Rental Policies
At RENTAVAN, we are focused on creating an effortless experience for our customers, which includes having policies that are simple, straightforward, and clearly communicated. Reservation Requirements and Guarantees
A major credit or debit card is required to rent with us. A $200 security deposit will be charged at checkout, in addition to your estimated rental charges, at or before the time of pick-up. This deposit will be refunded after the vehicle is returned in accordance with all rental terms.
From August through May, a card saved on file is sufficient to guarantee a reservation. In June and July, a $200 security deposit is required to guarantee the reservation.
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations from August through May. If a reservation is canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled pick-up time, or if the renter does not show, a $50 fee will be charged to the card on file. If the reservation is canceled within one week of the scheduled pick up time in June and July, the $200 security deposit will not be refunded.
If the renter fails to show up for their reservation without providing cancellation notice, the full amount of the rental charges will be applied to the card on file.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 25 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license to rent a vehicle. Additional drivers must be at least 21 years old and meet all licensing requirements.
Incidental Fees
You are financially responsible for any damage to the vehicle — including interior, exterior, and windshield damage — unless you have purchased one of our Vehicle Damage Waivers or Protections & Coverages, subject to the terms of the selected option.
A $200 Foul Odor Fee will be charged if the vehicle is smoked in or returned with a strong odor of any kind, including but not limited to tobacco, marijuana, or vape products.
A Cleaning Fee of up to $200 will be charged if the van is returned with trash, personal belongings, pet hair, or excessive dirt. The vehicle must be returned clean and in the same condition it was provided.
The vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel at the start of your rental and must be returned full. If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, you will be charged for the cost of fuel plus a $10 refueling fee.
Due to our tight scheduling, late returns are not permitted. Any vehicle returned after the scheduled return time will incur a charge equal to two times the daily rental rate for each day or partial day late.
We provide late-model, low-mileage vans and cover the cost of mechanical repairs in the event of a breakdown. However, we are not responsible for any related incidental expenses, including but not limited to food, lodging, or transportation costs resulting from the breakdown.
After-Hours Returns
For your convenience, we provide a key drop for after-hours returns. However, you remain responsible for the condition of the vehicle until the next business morning and the first opportunity for the vehicle to be checked in by a RENTAVAN employee.
